Wakefield is a town of approximately 24,800 people, located 10 miles north of Boston and is bordered by Reading, Saugus, Melrose and Lynnfield. The Wakefield Fire Department operates 2 engines plus one spare engine, 1 ladder, a Dive Rescue truck with a boat, a Technical Rescue trailer, a Hazmat Trailer and small utility body truck out of 2 Stations. There is also a Auxiliary Fire Dept. that runs a rescue truck as well out of Headquarters. Action Ambulance provides BLS and ALS transport service to the town. E-1, L-1, the Auxiliary Rescue, the Hazmat and Tech Rescue trailer and the Utility are located at Headquarters at 1 Union Street. E-2, E-4 (spare) and the Dive Rescue are located at the Greenwood Station at 5 Oak Street.
